The Football Development Australia Youth Academy Program is a commitment to the long term personal and football development of our players and teams and is one of the longest running football academies in Sydney. In fact, our Football Academy Program is known for its comprehensive approach to both player and team growth.
Players who are accepted into the program following their trial period will join an existing team who train and play competitive football all year round. This integration process sets the foundation for success in our Football Academy Program.
The players and teams on our football academy develop each year via a summer pre-season training period, which includes trial matches and interstate tournaments. Our teams then progress into their participation in winter competition league and cup competitions. Participating in the Football Academy Program provides opportunities for development at all seasonal stages.
We are currently inviting U12 to U18 players to trial for our 2027 squads.
If selected, players will:
- Join a squad that will train and play competition football all year round.
- Have the opportunity to participate in National Tournaments on the Gold Coast and in Melbourne.
- Receive specialist training and preparation if they are Goalkeepers.
- Be considered for selection for annual International Tournaments and Training Camps in Germany.
- Have the opportunity to Move to Germany to play in a semi professional team – post HSC.
The FdA Youth Academy Program is based in Homebush and Lane Cove and is a positive, alternate development pathway with overseas opportunities, if you’re not selected at NPL trials. Overall, the Football Academy Program offers a unique pathway for players targeting national and international development.
